Monte Cristo is the name of two brands of premium cigars, one produced in Cuba for Habanos SA, the Cuban state-owned tobacco company, and the other produced in La Romana, Dominican Republic for the Franco-Spanish tobacco monopoly Altadis SA.
Cuban cigars are illegal in the US therefore the only Monte Cristo cigars you will get will be the one made in the Dominic Republic by Altadis SA.
The latest Monte Cristo is the “New York Connoisseur Edition”. On the pre-light, this Monte Cristo is a 6 x 60 impressive box pressed cigar with a light brown color wrapper and minimal views.
The construction is perfect with an excellent draw and burn with a medium gray ash. This cigar on the initial draw is mild to medium and gradually picks up in body and Strength.
In terms of body, it is medium to full and the overall strength of this cigar is medium. I was not, however, overwhelmed by nicotine or pepper.
On the final third, the cigar is still smooth with a nice long cool medium finish.
Overall this is a pretty -looking cigar that delivers a perfect balance of flavor, body, and strength.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
*The Monte Cristo is made in the Dominican Republic.
